Yoga can help develop a sense of confidence and strength within yourself, feel relaxed, empowered and more prepared for the labour and childbirth.

Take some time to connect and nurture yourself and your baby. Classes include safe, gentle, nurturing postures, pelvic floor exercises, breathing techniques and beautiful relaxations. Yoga can be beneficial for all women whatever level of fitness, flexibility, size, age or experience. Mums are encouraged to work at their own pace, honour themselves and their baby.
Yoga provides a quiet space where you can take time out to get in touch with your growing baby. Feel the harmonising effect yoga can have on the body mind and emotions.
Weekly Classes involve:
Asana These practices help to maintain flexibility, tone and strengthen the body while releasing and loosening any tensions or stiffness from muscles. Pre Natal appropriate asana can assist in preparing the body for childbirth. There is a focus on getting in touch with the pelvic floor. Mums will learn specific practices, designed to strengthen tone and relax the whole pelvic area. By supporting and maintaining your body during pregnancy with a positive attitude and gentle exercise you can aim for a healthy and happy pregnancy, labour and birth.
Pranayama Breathing techniques encourage the flow of physical and mental energy. Helping to induce relaxation and focus into the body and mind. Breathing practices are very beneficial in preparation for labour and childbirth. Breathing can teach us to let go a little more deeply, by directing energy or inducing relaxation where needed during labour. It is said in yoga that “where the breath goes the mind will follow.” In this way mums learn to use the breath to direct their awareness to different parts of the body.
Yoga Nidra is a beautiful relaxation for pregnant mums. This half hour relaxation moves you through a wonderful guided journey to systematically relax, and internalise yourself. Beautiful visualisations are used to connect you with your baby. Mothers feel revitalised and refreshed after this nurturing relaxation. (Some even may nodd off for a short nap)
Meditations allow mums to experience techniques to quiet and clear the mind to enable them to connect with their baby. Meditations help you stay focused, bringing loving and gentle thoughts to mind for your child. Imagine a calm and peaceful atmosphere for your child and experience the joy of welcoming this precious baby into your life.
